The Karlyn cleat represents an astonishing innovation in the mundane world of cleats, fairleads, etc. for boat line handling purposes. Kinetic Research cut the original prototypes in aluminum and bronze after synthesizing the surfaces from customer supplied IGES wireframe data. Subsequent prototypes were machined utilizing IGES surface files supplied by the customer from his Rhino Surfacing software. These kinds of successful data exchanges from disparate CAD sources are typical of many of the projects we deal with.
